Squidguard install problems 5.5U6
« on: July 23, 2003, 07:31:39 AM »
Hi have tried several times to install squidguard3.2.tar.gz (latest d/l from techgeeks) and get
file /etc/e-smith/templates/etc/rc.d/init.d/masq/35transproxy from install of e-smith-transproxy-0.3-1
conflicts with file from package e-smith-proxy-4.8.0-01
file /etc/e-smith/templates/etc/squid/squid.conf/50-transproxy from install of e-smith-transproxy-0.3-1
conflicts with file from package e-smith-proxy-4.8.0-01
This is on 5.5U6.
Should I worry - it appears to work?
Regards
Brian

Brian,

Did you install via the install.sh script in the sg3 directory?

Hi Cyrus - yes from the install script in sg3. The messages both relate to transparent proxy which still seems to be working, as is squidguard. I am inclined not to worry but don't like unresolved errors.

Brian,

I have installed it many times on 5.5u6 installs but never had I had those errors, but I have never seen those errors. Then again I do not really pay much attention to the installation process, it takes a while on older hardware, I usually go and do something and come back and it's done :-).

If you are worried, then un-install and try reinstalling it and see if you get the same errors maybe, but if it works, then I guess it works?

Yes - I too have used on other servers and guess I didn't scroll back up through all the messages (it was right near the top of a lot). I have had the same error on two different 5.5U6 recently but haven't looked at all the messages on earlier installs so may have always been there. Thanks for responding Cyrus and for your input to these forums.

Brian
