Topic: BackupWS File Corrupt Error

When I try to open a BackupWS archive I get an error:
!   C:\Server Backups\464253\464253.08.12.03.rar: The file "???" header is corrupt

Also only bin, boot and dev are visible, wheras I had:
/bin,/boot,/dev,/etc,/home,/initrd,/lib,/opt,/quota.group,/quota.user,/root,/sbin,/service,/usr,/var in the Source.

Any thoughs appreciated.

A number of people have reported this problem but I have not seen it personally. I backup to a windows machine on the network it I have no problems reading the RAR file on the windows machine. Have been lucky not to have to reinstall.

You might try reading/extracting the file on a windows machine with winrar and copying the files over with ssh.

I'm backing up to a Windows Machine and trying to read the file with WinRAR. Which is the program that produces the error message.

Interesting..... My backup file is only about 250 Megs and all fits in one rar file. Is your archive all one file or are you trying to split yours across CD sized pieces? I think rar may have a problem with files over 2 Gb.

The file size may be an issue. I'll just backing up a few directories and seeing if that helps.
