I've had no luck in installing either 5.6 or latest 6.0 Beta 3 on an AMD Duron 900. Ultimately the error message is Kernel Panic VFS unable to mount root fs on dev 09:00. The error persists even with different hard disks and CD-ROM drives, and when using a boot disk as opposed to booting from CD-ROM. The CD's work fine on other machines. The forums seem to show this is not an unknown problem but there do not seem to be solutions. Any help would be welcome.
