If I understand you correctly, then you want your server to receive mail for yourdomain.blah, but you want
www.yourdomain.blah to be served by an external web server.
If so, there's nothing you need to do (other than set the domain of your server to yourdomain.blah), you just need to have your ISP correctly set up DNS for your domain, with your server listed as the mail exchanger (MX), and
www.yourdomain.blah set to resolve to their web server.
