Topic: Mounting a second harddrive

I have a second hard drive installed in my computer what I wanna do is mount that hard drive to a directory.  I have been doing a search for over an hour and and not having any luck.  I ran the intructions here http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=5783.msg20483#msg20483.  I tried this and I can not write to the drive. Please can some one give me a easy to follow step by step guide of from start to finish on how to setup and mount my second hard drive so I can back up so can copy some files to it.
