Topic: Beta3 question?

I just tried to install 6.0 beta3 iso on a celeron machine with a 30 gig drive and 128 meg ram. Its my test machine and has had at least 20 different linux installs in the past 2 years. Beta3 reports that it needs an additional 575 MB of space to install. Not likely on a 30 gig drive.

Just to be sure it was not something with the drive I ran the diagnostic disk and did a full low level format of the drive (Wrote all zeros to the drive). Still giving the same error. Just to be sure, installed 5.6 on the machine. No problem.

I did a quick search of the archives and do not see anything promising. Any suggestions on how to get past this error? I will submit a bug report if this is not a known and fixed problem.

As reports or discussions of beta bugs is actively discouraged from being reported on these phorums it is indeed unlikely you'll find any details of such here.

Mitel has made it clear they want any and all beta bug reports to go directly (and only?) to them. That this keeps other beta users in the dark about possible problems seems to be acceptable to the developers. I expect their reasoning is they'll be releasing a new beta (or final) with the appropriate fixes soon so don't waste time discussing yesterday's problems.

In any case report the bug ASAP ('cause its possible you found a show-stopper and they were planning the final release today) and work with them.
