Topic: desktop restore time

Hi - I have tried twice to restore a basic setup from desktop (5.5U6) so the file size is only about 30K. I gave up at 20 minutes and then had problems because the retore claimed not to be complete. I see from other postings that there have been browser issues but I find it hard to believe it should take so long. Can someone comment on their retore times for a smallish backup file please.

What browser are you using, brand & version ?
Beleive it, with the wrong (faulty) browser eg IE5.5 SP2 it will take forever and then not even necessarily finish.

From memory a small file like that only takes less than 5 minutes, even a minute or 2..

Did you Verify the file after the backup was done to make sure it was a good backup ?

Try using Netscape v6, that always worked OK for me even on huge many Mb & Gb size backup files.
