EZMLM Mailinglist manager

Hy,

I've installed de EZMLM mailinglistmanager. Everything works but the only thing that doesn't work is when a moderator wants to mail from a Hotmail account to the mailinglistmanager.

Then they get the following error:

"ezmlm-reject: fatal: Sorry, I don't accept messages of MIME Content-Type
'text/html' (#5.2.3)"

Is this a known problem?

Hi,

Yes, it is a feature, if you go into Hotmail options you can set it to send in plain text only.

Andrew.

You can allow "text/html" by using the configuration panel in Server-Manager. Look under "Mime types to strip from all outgoing mail:" for that list. However, it is generally considered A Bad Idea(TM) unless the list is local (i.e. all recipients/posters are local accounts and on the inside of the SME box), which in your case doesn't seem to apply. :-)

Andrew , Jens,

I found the option in Hotmail and it works.

The strange thing is that I had activated the option "extra" in the server-manager panel to "strip certain mimetypes".

When I use Outlook Express to mail to the mailinglist and use rtf or html, no error occurs. Ezmlm just strips the html and rtf specific things. Why doesn't ezmlm just strip the rtf- or html specific things from Hotmail mails?

Perhaps Hotmail messages by default only have "text/html"? (Which incidentally scores 0.1 points in SpamAssassin). If the entire body is stripped, it would make sense to bounce the message.

Hy,

I've deleted all the "text" mimetypes and some "application" mimetypes in the configuration item: "Mime types to strip from all outgoing mail".

Now it works fine.
