I have searched the forum, but can't find the answer.
has anyone managed to get smtp authentication to work on SME6.0beta3?

Unfortunately, when I asked the developers about SMTP (or even secure POP3) I as told that option is unsupported at this time. We will have to wait until Damien at pagefault.org updates his howto. I had to downgrade back to 5.6 because of this.
