SMTP Server listening on different port?
« on: November 18, 2003, 05:38:53 AM »
Hi All

I am trying to use a Dynamic DNS (TZO premium service) I understand that I can recieve mail on a different port. My ISP has blocked port 25 (which is Handy!!! NOT!!!)

I would like to use the SME 5.6 mail server. Do I need to change the port on the SMTP server so I can recieve mail?  If so how do I do that???

I have been able to open up ports on the SME server now the trick is getting the mail comming thru.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rob,

always a good idea to search the forum first:-) A search on 'blocked port 25' over all dates returned many pages of responses. On the first page there were at least 2 different ways of addressing this!

I also use optus and have used the redir method fior both mail & www (as per my posts - now running 6.03).
