I am using dreamweaver but am unable to connect to sql on the e-smith box to allow me to embed links to the database within the website. can anyone help??

running version 6.0 of e-smith!

Thanks in advance.

I would susoect I need to open port 3306 on the internal interface, if this is the case anyidea's how I go about doing it?

You failed to specify what scripting language you are programming in.  Additionally, you'll need to create a database on the server with the respective tables.

Hi Nathan

Was not thinking clearly the other night when I posted the question, was going to use php to access an sql server database hosted on the e-smith box, I am new to this game but have a good friend who is a developer for his companies novell intranet & he was going to show me a thing or two.

We are attempting to use a laptop connected to the internal network using dreamweaver to develope and publish the site, aparently dreamweaver has built in support for connecting to an sql DB.

thats about all i can tell you.

Hope u can help, best wishes either way.

Regards
