Topic: LDAP not working

Hi,

I read several threads about LDAP problems, and my question is : as someone been able to use it since version 5.5 (without restoring old versions files) ?

I tested 5.5, 5.6 and 6.0b3, and it is impossible to get a users list  in my email clients (I tried Outlook Express and Foxmail).

I also tried a tool called Ldap Browser ; it can access LDAP informations from my SME server, but none of them concerns my users...

If you know how to make it work, could you please explain me how to do ?

GOOD NEWS FOR ME (and maybe for other people)

Just for your information, the problem was linked to accentuated characters (I'm French, you see)

So, if you want to use LDAP, use only ASCII chars in every field and it will work OK

But to me it is an OpenLdap bug !...

PS : You will need to delete all users and recreate them without accents for Ldap to rebuild its directory correctly.

Thanks for your info ! I am just starting looking into theese problems myself now, so your info helps me really a lot !! (We are using the scandinavian alphabeth here so I think we have the same problem.)
