Topic: Accessing an SME server behind another SME

I have a SME6.0 server running as a web site and firewall for my network. I'm putting together another SME server that I want to run another webserver on that can be accesed from the outside. I've played around with the settings on my server connected to the outside but can't figure it out. I have two settings. One is "virtual domain" that I need to direct to a local Ibay. Second is "Host names", where I can forward "www" requests to another ip address. I have to do #1 in order to do #2. But the web page displayed is always where I direct #1. Am I doing something wrong?

If I get your right, you are putting up another webserver behind the SME gateway and proxypass might be your answer.

For my case, my router with inbuilt firewall is my gateway and my SME host mail and website.  I have only one fixed IP and required to host a web application on a redhat box. To solve my problem, I installed proxypass on SME and it direct the traffic to the redhat web application internally and externally.

Just wonder is there other better solution for my case.

Do a search for proxypass. Hope that help.

I have also a router with a built in firewall. I only placed the e-smitn in server only mode at lan. This works perfectly well and without a problem when it comes to the firewalling and routing issues.

Has anyone tried proxypass on SME6?
