The news items states that:
To activate these RPMs, you need to first configure the system for dialup mode - this sets the Username and Password - then configure the system for dedicated mode - this configures the ethernet interface. When you reboot your system it should connect successfully to your supplier.
Why do I have to set an username and a password, I do have a fixed IP address!!! Dialup mode??? Is it possible that I have an ADSL connection with fixed IP address without PPPoE??? If yes, why doesn't the gateway part of my E-smith box doesn't work??? Can't I connect my ADSL Alcatem modem directly to my E-box (short for E-smith box), that is, get rid of my Flowpoint 2025?
TIA,
Eddy
