I was just curious about your choice of forum software. I read your comments in the FAQ about why you changed forum software - but there is no indication why you picked phpbb2 - particularly since XOOPS, the CMS you selected, already has a forum module.

I am asking not as a criticism but because I have been investigating the XOOPS CMS for several web sites for customers and would like some feedback both on your choice of a CMS and your choice of a forum package. And specifically did you have any problems installing, configuring and running either on SME (big assumption here that you are running on an SME server?)

Lastly, I did not see the phpbb logo/link on the forum pages? Is that an oversight?

Thanks and keep up the good work!

We looked very seriously at the Xoops forum.  The issue that we had was that there were 78K+ posts already in the database and the Xoops db structure would not allow us to insert the usernames into the database when we ran an import.

All prior posts would have defaulted to "Anonymous".

With phpBB we were able to migrate the usernames and so chose to go with it.

Percheron,

The idea is to bring up a 'Credits page' and list all software, modules, people etc.

Hang in there ;-)
