Has anyone successfully installed Microsoft's front page extensions on an E-Smith server? If so, how about some pointers. I have had them installed under Redhat 6.2 and also under Linux Mandrake 7.0 and they worked properly. I am afraid to try to install them on E-Smith though, as I am not to comfortable with the templates yet.

We tried it on E-smith....and the system went bonkers! Why? We dont know.
Suffice to say, we blew the drive away and re-installed E-smith from scratch.

Yeah! We can confirm that RedHat 6.x works.

You should be,....and cautious too. Please try it on a test server first, not on a live server (Gulp!).

I successfully installed frontpage in an early 4.x beta, i think the first one. and it worked great.  Now they have broken the httpd.conf into several chunks and pieces that builds the resulting httpd.conf file, frontpage needs to make changes to httpd.conf so if you can install it and track down the changes that were made and put them into their own piece in the templates-custom directory for httpd.conf, theoretically it should work.  I will try this weekend and if succesful I will post my findings here.

Wasn't there already someone who had a solution for this problem??? It was on the mailinglist a couple of month ago. But I forgot his name!
