Topic: Email via Modem, web via WAN

We have internet access via a WAN (Private IP address range) proxy server, but no e-mail.  What I would like to do (if at all possible) is :

E-Smith Server + 2 NICS + 1 Modem.

All internet traffic is sent via the public NIC (to WAN)
E-Mail is received and sent via Modem (to ISP Multi-drop)

Is this pos. with just one e-smith machine, if so how would I set it up.
If not, would I need two e-smith machines, one for firewall/internet and one for e-mail.

If you have a public NIC for internet traffice, why would you need a modem for email? Unless your internet provider is providing a connection only. I had this once with an AT&T T1 -- we pulled 8 channels for a data pipe but had no services other than DNS. If you have that public NIC, I'd work with your provider to setup mail service through that connection and skip the modem.

Our ISP only allows http traffic thru the wan link.  They have no plans to release email, or any other service.  Hence the reason we want to use a modem to collect and send email.  (The WAN Service is provided free of charge, and is 10mbs)
