Cannot display ASP in MS IIS browse
« on: November 18, 2000, 08:23:34 AM »
When I try to view/browse to an *.asp page through the "advanced" tab of the Personal Web Manager (Win2000) I gwt the folloing error message:

The following error was encountered:

Unable to determine IP address from host name for vadim
The dnsserver returned:

DNS Domain 'vadim' is invalid: Host not found (authoritative).
This means that:

The cache was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL.
Check if the address is correct.

1) Do I need to install an Apache patch for IIS/Frontpage extentions on my e-smith server?
2)  Do I need to pu my asp files on the e-smith server?

I really don't understand what you're trying to do, or how it relates to e-smith.  However, out of the box, e-smith does not support .asp pages.  There are contrib RPMs to add PHP support, and I've seen asp-php conversion software, but that isn't quite what you asked for...
