I have my e-smith server running at home with some Samba shares and an external ISDN adapter for shared Internet access. All works great. But I came across an error message which I would like to have some more information about;
Dec 18 22:54:05 Armageddon diald[361]: start ppp0: SIOCSIFMTU: Invalid argument
Dec 18 22:54:05 Armageddon e-smith[4869]: Can't exec "/var/qmail/bin/qmailq": No
such file or directory at /etc/e-smith/events/ip-up/S20email-ipup line 38.
I guess this is about me not having qmail configured but what about the SIOCSIFMTU messages?
Dec 18 22:54:19 Armageddon PAM-securetty[4908]: Couldn't open /etc/securetty
Dec 18 22:54:22 Armageddon PAM_pwdb[4908]: (login) session opened for user root
by (uid=0)
Dec 18 23:05:45 Armageddon diald[361]: Closing down idle link.
Dec 18 23:05:45 Armageddon diald[361]: start sl0: SIOCSIFMTU: Invalid argument
Dec 18 23:05:45 Armageddon pppd[4858]: Terminating on signal 2.
Dec 18 23:05:45 Armageddon pppd[4858]: Connection terminated.
Dec 18 23:05:45 Armageddon pppd[4858]: Connect time 11.8 minutes
The above is also not clear to me. Please help me out.
I am very pleased with this awesome product. I am running 4.0 because I tried to install 4.1 beta but it gave me more panic and core dumps than joy.
Thanks a lot

I Have the same exact lines.
Some of them are just messages (I think)
like closing down iddle link
terminating on signal 2
but the siocsifmtu thing.... I dont Know
You should be running 4.0.1 , (4.1 is a development release as we were told by e-smith people) 4.0.1 is working great for me and the upgrade process is really easy take a look to http://www.e-smith.org/article.php3 there is an explanation for the upgrade procedure.
