Hi there,
I have been using E-smith for more then 10 month now. The last 3 weeks I'm experiencing the following problem! All of a sudden, some of my sites (ibays) are not longer visible by a browser. I'll get a 'You are not authorized to view this page' message. So what I have to do then is change 'User access via file sharing or user ftp:' to 'Write : Group Read : Everyone'. I don't want to do that, but that's the only way I can solve it that quickly! Oh yes, I am using 4.0 Beta 9
Any ideas?

Upgrade to version 4.0.1.

I'd like to but I am a little bit scared upgrading to that version.I am using virtual maildomains. The other time, when I did an upgrade to the beta version after the one I am using now, nothing was working anymore. Can't I just install a few routines to solve this problem?
Is there anybody who uses a stable version and uses virtual maildomains?
TIA,
Eddy
PS: I don't want that anybody sees other ibays when they ftp, how can I solve that?

I have found something in the /etc/group file:
vnv_group:x:545:vnv000,vnv001,vnv002,daphne.cotman,eddy.vanhoeserlande,vnvdekruk
vnv000:x:546:
inge:x:547:
ing000:x:548:
ing_group:x:549:ing000,admin,www,ing001,ing002,daphne.cotman,eddy.vanhoeserlande,inge
The first group vnv_group doesn't have www as user, so APACHE doesn't have access to that ibay.
The second group is working perfectly!
So my guess is that the file /etc/e-smith/web/panels/manager/cgi-bin/groups creates an incorrect /etc/group file! Is that correct? If yes can I have a corrected version of that file??? Can someone email it to me??? I don't want to upgrade to newer release at the moment, I have no test system free and I don't want to take the risk!
TIA,
Eddy
