Yes, you simply set-up an Internet profile in Outlook under Tools > Services > Add > Internet E-mail and fill in the blanks.

Thanks, but then it does what Outlook Express does. I will expand my question - when using Microsoft Outlook, will one be able to use the group functions, like scheduling, colloboration and public folders functions ?. MS Outlook supports IMAP, but will that give the above added functionality over and above e-mail?

No, the only Linux product that works natively with Outlook's complete feature set is HP's OpenMail.

Back sometime ago I was working with outlook for the same reasons. The only solution that I found was using a free 3rd party add-on for outlook called messageware address book service that allows outlook to be run in corporate mode and use the ldap directory on the E-Smith server. Without the program I had previously not been able to pull in the email addresses from the directory server properly.
I tested sharing calendars between two users and it worked but I never implemented it anywhere.
I'm patiently waiting for the next version of pegaus which will have a calendar and I think work better with E-Smith.
messageware can be downloaded for free from www.nexor.com
If you have any questions feel free to email me

You might be able to get LDAP out of the new 4.1 Sorry about you calendaring and things of that nature.

Hi Jeff,
Sorry but I cannot find the messageware you mentioned in www.nexor.com. Can you kind of direct me?

Sorry it took so long for me to reply. I think that nexor doesn't support or offer this product anymore but if you go to www.martintechnology.com/downloads/ you'll see a zip file called messageware.zip It contains the software and user manual.
