I'm using e-smith with a dialup connection and want to download my mail (from ISP) to a 'shared' user account so that the mail can be accessed/administered, from multiple clients on the network.... (each has Outlook express!)
At present Outlook Express logs on to my ISP using pop3.... do I need to ask my ISP to change any settings, for e-smith to send and receive the mail? I want it to end up stored on e-smith and accessed over the LAN from any of the Outlook Express clients which I presume I set up to use IMAP?
This is all quite new to me so any assistance gratefully.... received
regards
Gary

Not that I am an expert on the subject but my tiny, yet hyperactive mind would think that setting up e-smith to fetch the mail at your isp would do it. i think it's called multi-drop or etern. Your users on the lan could then access
mail.e-smith.yourdomain.com as an imap server.
Don't take this to the bank, but i know e-smith will retieve pop mail from an ISP.
