Hi all
e-smith has been working well for months now but there is one problem that seems the crop up everyday
I have been having this error for some time
Upon booting a Win98SE box and starting outlook express (version 5.00.2314.1300)
and attempting to collect mail from e-smith (version 4.0.1) via IMAP
i get a box stating
"an unknown error has occurred"
i click on details and see the following
configuration:
account: myusername
server: mail.e-smith.mydomain.com.au
protocol: IMAP
port: 143
secure(SSL): 0
code: 80004005
they all have this same error code
if i open a browser or otherwise connect to the e-smith box this error is bypassed
it won't let you log in to get your mail until you do this
it is only when making initial contact with the e-smith box for the day from each machine
anyone know what is going on here and how to stop this coming up

You should ask Microsoft what that "unknown error" is. And when you find out, please share it with us.

on the ms site that error code points to

which tells me to do what i have already done and the error persists
i already have clicked always connect via LAN
i will keep looking
hopefully let you know soon
