Title: email server
Post by: Devin Sain on February 26, 2001, 11:48:55 PM
I am trying to make the e-smith server into a e-mail server.   I am running into the problem though that it was designed to be used only by your local network.  Does anyone know how to make imap, pop3, and smtp avalible to public use.

SMTP should not be open for public use, as that would make you an open relay, such that spammers would love you and the rest of the net would hate you (and probably blacklist you).  POP and IMAP can be opened for public access from the e-smith-manager (but there's a bit of a bug; I don't remember the workaround at the moment).
