Title: missing e-smith-manager toolbar
Post by: JH on March 06, 2001, 05:18:37 AM
I've recently installed this dist and seems to work fine except that when i bring up the e-smith-manager page internally there isn't anything on the toolbar on the left.  Also when I try to bring it up from outside, it just stalls.  I'm pretty sure its me being dense, but even if this is so, could someone suggest something I mgith try? much obliged

I don't know if this will help, but you could try and reboot your server.
after a clean install I could not bring up the side bar untell i rebooted my server.

Make sure you are logging into the manager as 'admin' and not 'root'.

Do a search on the forums and you should find plenty of these cases there - most of which are caused by someone logging into the web manager as 'root' instead of 'admin'.

I kjnow that when I used to log in to the manager in 4.0 it wanted to read 192.168.1.1/e-smith manager  -  I saved it to my favorites for easy access.
When I upgraded to 4.1.1 and used the same bookmark the menu frame was alos absent.  I quickly discovered that the address bar read 192.168.1.1:980 instead of e-smith-manager.  I simply backspaced the 980 and typed it in again, hit enter and voila!, the menu frame appeared.
