Title: IMAP config confusion
Post by: Corey Puffalt on March 06, 2001, 08:17:14 AM
A while ago I asked about the possibility of having all IMAP directories being relegated to a subdirectory off of my home directory to reduce the clutter in the home directory (see http://www.e-smith.org/bboard//read.php?v=t&f=3&i=1696&t=1696).  At the time Charlie mentioned that this was on the todo list.  Anyhow, I just upgraded my server to e-smith 4.1 and the IMAP situation doesn't appear to have changed -- except for one thing.  I was playing with webmail (IMP) and I noticed that any folders you create end up in a Mail subdirectory.  Sadly, IMP doesn't see any of my normal IMAP folders which still live directly in the home directory.

Could we have a consistent IMAP setup between what normal IMAP clients see and what IMP sees?  Ideally, I'd like to see all my mail in a Mail subdirectory.  Can anyone give me pointers on how I could modify my configuration to fix this problem?

Thanks,
Corey

Set your mail clients to look at the mail directory.   Outlook express and Netscape both a place where you tell them what directory you imap mail resides.
Set all you cliets to look at /mail for there mail.

Sure that's a possible workaround but it requires each user to do some extra configuration that should be unnecessary IMHO.
