Looks like a problem with the SCSI interface.

I am having that problem with a machine as well. If you find anything, please let me know.
I am using:
4.1.1
2 channel on-board SCSI (2 x 4Gb drives, using RAID1 and using single drive, both did the same)
2 PII 400
256RAM

I removed all the SCSI drives and installed and IDE drive, but I got the same results.

Ok :)
E-smith 4.1.1 work with SCSI if:
1. install e-smith 4.0 or 4.0.1
2. update 4.0 or 4.0.1 to 4.1.0 or 4.1.1
And My HP NetServer E50 (PIII 550 128RAM SCSI HDD 9.2 Gb) startig up .... :)

I'm running SME server 6 and I'm having exactly the same problem. I only use one IDE drive, and I've never had this problem in the past 3 years.
I've connected a subdomain to an I-bay, and afther that the server rebooted. We'll, not quite actually. It stops at the 'enabling swap space' message....
Please let me know how I can fix this! I'm planning to upgrade to SME server 7 pre4 but I have to make backups first...

Perhaps it died of old age.
