Title: Where is it???

I ran an rpm:
rpm -ivh AfterStep-APPS-2000309-4mdk.i586.rpm

Everything seemed to proceed correctly...but now I canoot either find nor run it.

What did I screw up????

well, you won't be able to run AfterStep without having X installed and running. So you won't be able to run the Afterstep APPS either.

If you had mandrake linux installed - which it looks like you got the rpm from mandrake - instead of e-smith, then you would get icons on the desktop or on the menu for those apps.

rpm -e AfterStep-APPS-2000309-4mdk is the best I can think of
