Title: e-smith 4.1.1: e-mail problem

Running e-smith 4.1.1 with all the updates, I have a problem receiving e-mail. It seems that the e-smith box does pull the mail from my isp's smtp server, but it doesn't show up in the users mailboxes.

Any help would be appreciated.

Apply the e-smith-obtuse-smtpd update RPM. Then do:

/sbin/telinit 1
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event post-upgrade
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event reboot

Your lost messages will then appear after the reboot, and your system will function correctly.

Same problem, applied updates, followed instructions, on /sbin/e-smith/signal-event post-upgrade I received several lines of
modepobe: modprobe: can't locate module block-major-3

any ideas

local mail works fine, mail sent to e-smith never gets bounced or delivered?

/sbin/telinit 1 is not a good idea when working over a dial-up connection....
