A project I'm working on requires per-IP accounting and billing for each IP on it's internal network. Is there a third-party package for this, or do I need to roll my own using ipchains?

I'm sure there are some, but AFAIK none specifically tailored to e-smith.

If you do, please be sure to make it available to other e-smith users. We will be happy to provide ftp space for you.

ipfa looks good - the homepage is down, and it seems like it might be orphaned, but you can still download it from http://downcity.linuxberg.com/conhtml/preview/8342.html
No success in getting it to work with e-smith yet - the e-smith httpd config files are non-standard, so to speak.

What's a "standard" httpd config file? And what's "non-standard" about the e-smith httpd config files?

Different default html directories, for example. No big deal.
ipmeter looks good, too.

If anyone gets ntop working, could you post instructions? I'd like to be able to try it out. With monitoring of http connections and an easy way for users to turn on auto replies (seems to me that I read how to do that somewhere) I think I could convince my boss to let me get rid of BorderManager & buy e-smith...
