Title: Big problem - root and admin password dissapeard

For some reason I had to restart my e-smith server. After the reboot my root and admin password do not work anymore.

The reason for the reboot was that I have de-installed e-smith-loginscripts (see message in other forum). Since then my box works fine, but the I can not login anymore. The user passwords work fine, only the admin and root passwords seems to be lost in space. Please help asap because I can't login the console anymore.

just out of curiosity, have you tried using 'default' as the password? (without the quotes, of course...)

No I have not. In the meantime I installed the whole thing again. There was no way I could access the box. The box worked fine however. The only problem was that it could not be accessed anymore.

I still don't now what exactly went wrong wich scares me a little bit for the future...... :-(
