Title: Little help here please
Post by: Garret on October 26, 2000, 07:05:28 AM
Hey,

I know that many systems come with a "default" e-mail account, postmaster on many.
This account is basically where everything that is not a valid user goes. I believe that it is "admin" on e-smith but need to know for sure. Working with a webmail program that uses this account to set up other accounts. Could someone please set me straight on this? I have tried admin with no luck but can't think what else it would be.

Thanks

Garret

postmaster, root and mailer-daemon are all directed to the admin account.

The admin account's email can be redirected to a user through the e-smith
manager - check the manual. You also need to select that the administrator
should get all mail to unkown users. Once again - check the manual.

So, you can use postmaster or admin for the "default" account.

Gordon,

Thank you. I knew about the redirection, and the checking off that the administrator should get mail for unknownusers, and apologize for not being clear on that account. It was the postmaster, root, mailer info I was looing for. Once again, if that is in the manual I apologize. In the future I will look at the manual first.

Thank you,
Garret
