Title: Using ESmith-Server as relay for special host?
Post by: thomas on April 09, 2001, 10:16:14 PM
Hi folks,

I've got an host with a dynamic-ip-address out there which can't send mail (through sendmail) 'cause of his dynamic-ip.
So I would like to use my e-smith-server (also with dynamic-IP but working EMail) as an mail-relay for that other server.

Is this possible? How?

Thanks a lot

Thomas

He might be able to by using one of the dynamic ip services e-smith mentions in the manual.

You can set it up to do that but you have to be careful when you allow relaying because spammers will use you to hide their identity.  I would expect you could find info on how successful people have been with this on the internet. Keywords I would look for include:

blackhole
spam
relay
norelay

Here is a link discussing pros and cons for qmail.
