HP has a piece of software called WebJetAdmin, used to setup/manage printers.
They have a version on their web site that says it is for red hat 6.2

has anyone used this?/tried to use this?
would i have to go back to e-smith 4.0 (last 6.2 based e-smith, right?) - i have 4.1.1 loaded right now

i tried it to see what would happen and it looks like it is missing some things
don't know if this is because e-smith isn't really red hat per se or cause it is for the wrong  version of red hat
"missing libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2" and some other stuff

 thanks

Are you sure you need this?  Are your workstations Linux based?  IMHO it is much better to simply set up a HP printer or JetDirect with a static IP address and add the HP Network Printer Wizard (download from HP) to your Windows workstations.  Then you simply print direct to the printer.

				that worked just fine
i am surprised the HP rep didn't bother to mention such a simple/easy solution.

weird, we ask them what to use in replacement of JetAdmin, which is being retired, and they say "just use Web JetAdmin", but without a server of some type, that isn't so easy

anyway, thank you very much for helping even though it didn't really have anything to do with e-smith
