I am wanting to change the default home directory for several of my ftp users.  These users will be managing a web site and I would like their home directory to be the root of the web site instead of the user account home directory.  Should I be using symbolic links to aquire this result.  Or is there a config file is proftp that I can change for just those users.

Just tell those users to log in using the i-bay name and the i-bay password when they are maintaining the web site.

What if I want the web site not to be password protected, can I still have a password on the ftp? Or is that what the password is for? and not for http access.

In other words, I want {ibay | username} & password for ftp access but not for http access.

eh? unless you specifically set it up with .htaccess or somesuch, websites shouldn't be password protected. the ibay name/password is for logging in via ftp or smb (i think, correct me if i'm wrong...) to modify/change/update/whatever the html n' graphics n' stuff.
