Title: ugrade confusion
Post by: steve on April 24, 2001, 01:04:48 AM
I am a little confused about the upgrade to 4.1.2  Do I have to download the iso and do a reinstall to upgrade?  I installed the update patches to secure my existing 4.1.1 server "pending" an upgrade to 4.1.2.  Is that all I needed to do?  The pending confuses me....do I still need to burn a 4.1.2 iso disk and reinstall?  Please clarify what I should do.

These are user supported bulletin boards - I don't think two days is an unreasonable delay...

Anyway, as a supported customer, you would receive a 4.1.2 CD and you can then upgrade from that. If you choose not to be a supported customer, you need to download 4.1.2, burn a CD and upgrade from that.

The short instructions were to close a vulnerability. We still recommend everyone upgrades to 4.1.2 when they are able to do so.

Please report bugs to bugs@e-smith.com

Anyway, we are aware of this problem and are planning an update.

Please note that PHP was added to the product to support webmail.

sorry, didnt mean to come off like that.....anyways, if we install the security fixes pending the upgrade, do i still need to upgrade?  I don't really need any of the new features.

We recommend all people upgrade to 4.1.2, though whether you do is up to you.

However, it becomes significantly harder for us to release updates if there are people at all sorts of release levels.

Is there a how to on using the new 4.1.2 iso
will the new iso install right over the 4.1.1 or are there things that need to be done prior to the upgrade.

If you use php in your primary site it will cease to function after the upgrade. Has anyone worked through this yet ?
