Hello,
as you can see above, I have a DEC DLT2000. I use 20Gbytes tapes.
And very often (9/10 tries) the backup doesn't finishes. I plan
the backup @ 21:00, at this time, the server is not busy, and it's quite strong as you can see !!
Tapes are new and I made a flexbackup -erase before to start my tests.
I'm desapointed, I can't understand what's happening.
In other words, I need help to manage my backup's.
Thanks.
Jérome

Savin,
the error looks like it could be transfer timeout. Something simple you could try is to slow down the transfer rate of the SCSI bios on your Adaptec 7890.
Try setting it to 10mb/sec (default is probably around 80mb/sec) - it won't increase the backup time by much and should make the transfers more reliable.
Worth a try anyway.
If you haven't configured a SCSI bios before just look for the setup key to use when the SCSI bio boots. You will want to note which SCSI ID your drive is on first and then slow this device number down.
