Title: multiple IP addresses on one interface
Post by: Dominique on May 18, 2001, 09:12:56 PM
Hi,

my e-smith bo need to have several IP addresses on the same interface (eth0). I have tried to copy the /etc/sysconfig/network-script/ifcfg-eth0 file to /etc/sysconfig/network-script/ifcfg-eth0:0 and I have modified the latter to add the new IP address...without any success.

Does anyone know how to make such a configuration ?

Thanx in advance.

I did the same thing ad everything is working well.

Are you sure you well modified the ifcfg-eth0:0 file, first time I did it
I didn't add :0 to eth0 in the first row of the fiel and nothing worked
I f you are unsure about how to modify it you can use networkconfigurator on
a redhat box and simply copy the file.

The alias still works after reboot.

Bye
