Title: Error from /etc/cron.weekly/makewhatis.cron
Post by: Peter Gandert on May 21, 2001, 02:25:34 PM
Hi, maybe a "newbie"-question..... :)

I get a message from the makewhatis.cron, which runs weekly.

About 100 times of

"zcat: stdout: Broken pipe"

What does ist mean. The box is running properly though this message comes.
What does makewhatis.cron do ?
What are the consequences of this error ?

Thanks for Your help

I did see something about this message in the forum somewhere, I dont remember where but basically it is nothing to worry about there is a small problem somewhere but it does not effect the running of the server. To find more do a search of the forum.

Hi Benny

Thanks for the hint.

I found a reference in the reported bugs. This error has "only" informational charcter, so as i have expected, because my server is still running in a proper way.

Bye and have a nice weekend
