Please help me to solve this problem. My ISP has outsorced its mail servers, and I can't send e-mail any more (but I can receive OK).
They tell me that I need to specify the IP adresses for the Primary and Secondary DNS servers, that would point me to the correct SMTP and POP3 servers, respectively.
Now when I go to the E-smith 4.1.2 console, it confuses me, because it talks about 3d party web DNS servers, e.g. XYZ.com, but I don't have a registered domain name ...
There is one option where I can enter an "external" DNS server (Menu Item ?), on one dotted line, but I am not sure about the syntax ... How do I separate two IP addresses - with a semi-colon? A space?
Please tell me, how to specify IP's for Primary and Secondary DNS servers without hacking Linux config files?
(I don't even know how to open an editor in Linux).
Regards, Dean

Hi,
Not too sure about your problem but to edit a file you need to use a editor called "pico" usage is: "pico file_path/filename" for e.x. "pico /etc/ppp/ip-up.local"

you can use your e-smith machine for your SMTP (ie, outgoing mail) by setting your mail client to use its address for SMTP
