Title: DNS server
Post by: karababa on June 20, 2001, 04:12:13 PM
hi all,

we have installed e-smith server and gateway. everything is ok, except our dns server configuration. e-smith configures our official domain record with local IPs.
an example :

www   IN     A      192.168.1.1

but we want the following:

www   IN    A      217.50.50.15

where we must modify in order to let e-smith changes automatically change our domain record on dns configuration? we looked in template files, but we didn't understand variable method. where can we manipulate this variables?

best regards

Dan does that stand for "Read The Fine Manual", hehe :-) Karababa you're better off having someone else do your public DNS and leave e-smith the way it is. Setup an account at http://www.mydomain.com and use their dns servers to redirect enquiries back to your external IP address.
