Title: proximity network
Post by: al on December 08, 2000, 05:28:11 PM
Hello, i'm french

this is the configuration:
voici la configuration:

in windows client:    workgroup = 'bureautique'
   in e-smith server:    workgroup = 'e-smith'

if the server is configured 'server only - dedicated', i see it in 'global network' of windows (the workgroups are different). But if the server is configured ''server only - no internet access' (the workgroups didn't changed), the server disappears. If i rename 'e-smith' the workgroup of the client windows , it doesn't change nothing ....

thanks for your answers, bye
merci pour votre aide

Do you have another dhcp server in your network?
are you providing dhcp service with the e-smith server or not?
If you are using Microsoft windows 98 SE internet shared connection, it could interfere with E-smith dhcp service (dns assignment)
Sorry about my english!

i don't see the server with 'explorer.exe', but i see it with 'Poste de travail' or internet explorer at '\e-smith-server'
