Title: Opening Ports
Post by: kkowalsky on July 04, 2001, 07:25:19 PM
Hi,

I run e-smith 4.1 and I have a person behind the e-smith firewall that needs to open these ports:

UDP port 259
TCP Port 256
IP Protocol 94
IP Protocol 50
IP Protocol 51
UDP Port 500

I got these from http://snp.sabre.com/support/broadband_content.htm#ports
I don't know how to "open" these ports under e-smith linux...I read the howto on portfw and I don't think that is what I should use.

Thank you for your help,

Kenneth K

why don't you think you should use port forwarding? There is no other way you will achieve it.

Is "opening the port" the same as portfw?
