Title: Dial-in access to the e-smith server
Post by: Michael Bernardi on July 11, 2001, 07:47:32 PM
If you have an e-smith server with a modem attached, to allow connection OUT to the internet, then it should be possible to dial in (to the phone the modem is attached to) and connect via a PC=>modem<=phone lines=>modem=>e-smith

However this doesn't seem to be an option. ie NOT tunneling through the net but a direct connection.

You can find a HOWTO for this here ftp://ftp.e-smith.org/pub/e-smith/contrib/StephenNoble/RPMS/noarch/readme-dialin-server.html but apparently it only works with 4.0 and is not recommended to be installed on later versions of e-smith. This was contributed by Stephen Noble and you can find a list of other user contributed HOWTO's here http://www.e-smith.org/cgi-bin/contrib.cgi
