Title: Transparent proxy
Post by: Alex Schaft on July 12, 2001, 07:23:04 PM
Hi,

I downloaded and installed the transparent proxy rpm from the contrib area. What else do I need to do to activate, and how do I verify it's running?

......If all fails and just for fun - reboot the box......

You can tell if the cache is transparent if you dl a web page and then clear your  workstations browser cache, the reload will be *instantaneous*  - checking the squid log is also a good clue - that will tell you what files are cached.

Hoipe this helps

Nope, sorry but the Squid Cache log won't show anything...

try forcing the proxy settings to your.esmith.ip.address and port 3128

you should then see the logging in effect.
