Title: Mac-pc pb with french accentuated file name
Post by: vincent on July 16, 2001, 08:21:01 PM
With e-smith 412, I have (big) pb with the accentuated file name.

When I copy from a mac a file with accentuated name on the server, I just can't read it with a pc running Win98 (no pb reading it with a mac). Same thing in the other way.

Is there any mac/pc lan user to help me ??

Your e-smith version is 412 ?
PC os are win98 ?
Mac os are 9.x ?

Thanks.

At the beginning, we have some problems with mac files and win 95, and the mac user need to change some parameters for a good exchange between this 2 systems.
I ask him what i have changed

in the smb.conf '10globals' file, add at the end  :
veto files = /.AppleDouble/.bin/.AppleDesktop/Network Trash Folder/TheVolumeSettingsFolder/Icon?/

in the 'AppleVolumes.default' file :
add at the end of each line codepage=maccode.iso8859-1
