hi all,
I followed Dan's howto for the upgrade and everything worked great.
The Win2k pc can connect no probs, as well as win98.
I have roaming profiles working and printing.
ONE problem I have run into-
File sharing and "drag and drop" between W2k pc and e-smith runs unbelievably slow. 1.5 hours for a 200meg transfer. Before the upgrade it took about 2 minutes.
Don't know why, but will keep looking.
It also may appear to affect the "gateway" part of the set-up with a 56k modem connection. Clients complain of time-out errors when surfing the web or collecting mail from a remote "pop3" server.

The guys on the Samba mailing list are having the same issues. I'm pretty sure it's a Samba issue.

I've heard of others with the same problems, but FWIW, I haven't encountered it. For example, copying the e-smith ISO over to the server (to rsync update it) and then back to my w2k client machine was no problem at all.
