Hi All..
Anyone try to install this monitor: e-smith-monitor_en-1.0-01.noarch.rpm
I can't get to work.!!!
-
Where can i pick this up ?
-
have a look at the "e-smith development mailing list" (http://www.mail-archive.com/devinfo%40lists.e-smith.org/) there is a thread called "[e-smith-devinfo] Server monitoring module ready for download"
the installation works fine, but now i'm receiving about 200 mails per hour!
"ERROR: rrdopen can't open '/var/lib/rrd/sl0.rrd': No such file or directory"
i hope there will be a fix soon!

I have a working copy NOW..
One of the problems with it is:
ERROR: rrdopen can't open '/var/lib/rrd/usedram.rrd': Permission denied
ERROR: rrdopen can't open '/var/lib/rrd/usedswap.rrd': Permission denied
ERROR: rrdopen can't open '/var/lib/rrd/mainhd.rrd': Permission denied
ERROR: rrdopen can't open '/var/lib/rrd/eth0.rrd': Permission denied
ERROR: rrdopen can't open '/var/lib/rrd/usedram.rrd': Permission denied
ERROR: rrdopen can't open '/var/lib/rrd/usedcpu.rrd': Permission denied
ERROR: rrdopen can't open '/var/lib/rrd/usedswap.rrd': Permission denied
ERROR: rrdopen can't open '/var/lib/rrd/mainhd.rrd': Permission denied
ERROR: rrdopen can't open '/var/lib/rrd/eth0.rrd': Permission denied
I did a chmod 777 on the rrd Dir, it work's now..
Then there was a smal bug in the monitor:
> What is: Bajo, Medio, Alto. is that spanish.!!
Ups, you should change it in /etc/e-smith/web/functions/monitor
Bajo = Low
Medio = Medium
Alto = High
Easy to fix..now that i have found it..:-))
I have now a working copy of all the files if someone need's them..
I will put them online on my site: http://www.zbox.dk - running E-Smith..:-)

I was also receiveing these errors on my first install, but no more. I did a couple of things to clear it, but in looking back, I did the install using the same rpms as originally listed, and with the "rpm -Uvh *" command with all the files in a temp directory.
Since then I have done another install with the same files and commands and it worked correctly on the first try. It's working fine on both now, and since I took 6 years of spanish in High School, I haven"t even bothered to change the text labels.

Hi all,
I'm Jaime Nebrera, one of the developers of e-smith-monitor. I post here a copy of our last message to the e-smith devinfo list.
############COPY#########
We have released a new release (02) of e-smith-monitor software. It
solves:
1) The english package is now all in english (no more Alto, Medio and
Bajo :)))
2) It now detects the network interfaces present in the system and
shows them. This info is updated every minute. You should not found
anymore the error "can't find /var/lib/rrd/eth1.rrd database"
3) It shows all the net traffic graphs (no longer eth0 only).
Some comments:
1) The spanish package is no longer called e-smith-monitor_sp but
e-smith-monitor_es following the international standard.
2) The rpm update DOESN'T WORK propertly. It installs perfectly right
in a fresh system but wont update right. Please, follow the instructions
in the web page to update. Also, if someone knows how to solve this (we
guess is something in the spec file) please, contact us.
3) We don't know what is causing the "admin password" problem :( We
don't have it :))
4) Some people is reporting an error when making a backup (something
about a lock). We have not worked in this yet. The script executes every
minute and this might be in conflict with the backup process. We will
think about it. Any idea?
As allways, the package will be available for download in e-smith's
ftp contrib area, but give them some time to update :)))
Thanks Kim, Darrel, David and Rod and everybody else for the help. We
have used most of your suggestions :)
Regards.
BTW, the main developer is Juan J. Prieto, he is just too lazy to
write in this list (not to mention his english :))))) but he really
knows more Perl than me :))
#########END OF COPY#########
You can find all the files in:
ftp://ftp.e-smith.org/pub/e-smith/contrib/eneo/RPMS/noarch/
Please, read and follow the instructions in:
ftp://ftp.e-smith.org/pub/e-smith/contrib/eneo/RPMS/noarch/e-smith_monitor.html
At this moment (23:25 here in Spain) it seems Dan York has not updated the ftp directory yet. Please, wait untill you see the release 02 packages as release 01 will almost for sure cause you to receive A LOT OF warning emails (one every minute for every network interface you have in your system besides eth0 and lo :)))
