Title: Closing ports
Post by: Steve on August 05, 2001, 02:19:33 PM
Hi, Hope someone can help with this.
I want to close some ports that are open, to do this i need to edit the services file but in the services file it tells me not to edit this file and to make the changes in the template, can someone explain to me what i need to put in this template as it is empty.

Thanks

Steve

What ports do you think you need to close, and why?  e-smith is pretty secure out of the box.  In any case, /etc/services has nothing to do with which ports are open.
