Title: PHP or Perl & http-log
Post by: Thor Anthrax on August 06, 2001, 11:31:35 PM
Does anyone know a PHP (or maybe perl?) script that can read and understand the log from http? I would like to know what pages are most visited and stuff...Of course I could use some of those trackers, but why would I when my very own server logs is all for me. Now if I could just read them out...

Thank in advance,
Thor Anthrax

Thor,
If you go to mynetwatchman.com they have a program that reads the firewall log and sends an e-mail re intrusions. There are two programs WebAgent and PerlAgent, you might be able to get the PerlAgent to do what you want. I haven't tried it so I'm not sure.

I took a look at the site and it seems a good program to me...for firewall programs (as you can see here: http://mynetwatchman.com/ftagent.htm)

It's not what I'm looking for, but thanks for trying.

Anyone else?

Check the contributed howto section of e-smith.org for the how-to on AWstats.  It will analyse your httpd log files for all your domains and breakdown everything.  I installed it and it works great. It installs a link into your esmith manager.
